All Take Hands Square Dance
We are excited to announce that we're putting on an extra-special fundraiser square dance in April!
In addition to an "all-call" square dance called by some of Missoula's favorites, we will also be holding a silent auction for homemade desserts (yum!). So come bring yourself / your friend / your sweetie, dance the night away, and take home a sweet treat made with love!
Tickets for this dance are $15 and can be purchased at the door. Volunteers get in free!
All proceeds from this dance will go towards Dare To Be Square West -- a weekend of square dancing, calling, and old time gathering — taking place in Missoula November 6-8, 2026. deets here!

Pub Sing is a casual “singing jam” of sorts (not a performance!). A wide variety of songs are welcome, but ones with catchy choruses, call and response, or that are generally “sing-along-able” work best. We take turns leading songs, and everyone joins in on the chorus or other repeated parts. It’s also totally fine to just sing along! You don’t have to lead a song if you don’t want to.
Traditional songs, folk songs, sea chanties, etc. are all great genres to draw from. We sing a cappella, so no instruments are needed.

There’s something for everyone at this weekend of workshops: learn how to call, practice your calling, learn new dances, participate in music workshops, and meet other square dance enthusiasts.

Join Lake Missoula Old Time and friends for our annual Valentine’s Day Square Dance! Plus a bonus album release party for Needle & Thread. Come for the dance, stay for the local musicians!
Bring yourself, your friends, a partner (or not!) and join us on the Free Cycles dance floor for some old time community square dancing. All dances are taught by a caller. Beginners and dancers young and old are welcome and celebrated. Dancing is to live old time music, brought to you by local musicians: Needle & Thread and friends. Needle and Thread, a banjo, guitar, fiddle, and sister-singing duo, is releasing a new album in conjunction with the LMOT Valentine’s Day Square Dance (Feb 14th, 6:30-10, Freecycles, Missoula, MT). This album was created in honor of Kim Lansford, a dear friend of Maddy and Ella. Featuring a blend of traditional and original tunes and songs, the album showcases expressive performances and heartfelt harmonies. You’ll hear beautiful sister vocals, twin fiddles, and unique ballads, all as part of a warm tribute to Kim Lansford.
We hope you’ll join us for a night of celebration!
There will be Needle and Thread merch, CDs, and albums available for purchase, as well as a live performance from the duo.

This is a welcoming learning environment that is suitable for those with basic proficiency on an old time instrument (think fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar). The jam will be led by experienced old time musicians.
