old time cider jam
Western Cider | 501 North California Street, Missoula, Montana 59802
First & third Wednesday of each month
Bring your fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, banjo-uke, or ukulele to the old time cider jam, where the cider is cold and the tunes are hot. This is an old time specific jam for folks looking to learn new tunes and saw along to old chestnuts. Check out our list of commonly played tunes at the cider jam. See you there!
old time slow jam
We are working to get the slow jam up and running again! Interested in participating? Send us an email at missoulaoldtime@gmail.
This jam is designed for beginner and intermediate musicians, kids, and newcomers to old time music. Experienced players will take a tune and slow it way down so you can work on your boom-chuck, bump-ditty, alternating bass line, or bass line runs. Come learn, practice, and play along at this casual, fun, slow jam.
Slow jams are announced on our newsletter and Events page!
square dances
Our square dances are in the Southern Appalachian community tradition. It’s all about having a good time, mingling, and meeting new folks. And it’s a foot-stomping good time. We dance to live old time music and a caller who teaches the dances as you go. No experience needed. As we say, it’s the most fun when you mess up. All ages are welcome, too, and no partner necessary. Come as you are, dance as you are. Join in on the tomfoolery and fun. Dances are announced on our newsletter and Events page!
